Description
1963 Volkswagen Westfalia SO-33 Hatch Top
*Gaps are super nice, No damage with hinges the set 100% as they should.
*Bus does no appear to have any damage at all!
*59K Original miles bus. I would not make the statement if I felt it spun over. Here are the signs,
-Steering wheel has zero cracks looks N.O.S. New Old Stock,
-Interior is 100% original. It looks as if it was never sat on. The rear seats are incredible with the original pillows, missing foam only. I will create and finish this if you want.
No big deal.
-The front seat is original and the wear is strange. Little use. Stitching is good material is correct. The grey with white piping is the O.G. I will check to see all the padding to see if it is all original. The seats the way the are look to be factory correct never altered or refitted with German horsehair/O.G. in condition you do not find unless stored in a Time capsule manor.
-Cabinets are original and incredible.
- Marble mat in the back gorgeous.
-Cabinets gorgeous not the typical wear. These cabinets are similar to being stored in a museum. The latches are all Nice. No breaks and all original. All the plastic is nice with zero shrinkage. The seals are all nice in the ice-box.
-The bottles specific for this style ice-box are still there. Weird this is the first thing lost or thrown away. Another sign of its use or care.
- All the screws holding the birch and pieces in place are German and original to the car. Not pulled out and replaced and torn in any way.
- The rear curtain is original and perfect. The dividing curtain is the same way. This bus was most definitely stored in dry storage with a great climate as this would not be present. They do make the OG curtains in U.K. to complete. Would be a huge compliment to the bus and a finishing touch. This would increase its end value for any client collector. It would be cool to put out a request for original curtains as the ones in place are the hardest ones to be in place. The rest of the curtains probably exist but at some point were separated from the bus.
-All glass is gorgeous and matching.
-The mirrors are the original V.W.O.A. Never in place and are like brand new!!!! Not the after market crap we are all forced to buy as we cannot find the originals and if we did they would be quite expensive.
-All panels in the cab area are original with the original screws and couplings. These panel typical to not be in great original shape. The roof, doors, and kicks are excellent. Grab handle, buttons all German OG and nice.
- Radio period correct Blaupunkt looks NOS most likely will work with a speaker. I am able to test and do my best to work. If we sell it. I believe it will fire right up.
- The Rubber emergency brake boot and gear shift is original to the bus and perfect. The original front floor mat is also super nice and do not recall any tears. I am able to follow up with this if I see it and the client wants to know.
-all seals look to of never been replaced and show well for there age. To a collector like Ande he would never want to change. I would only choose a couple to change. Rear deck lid hinge and a couple others.
Chassis is crazy. Dry, straight, Zero undercoat, 100% original. The front splash pan is in tack and fits perfect as there is no damage on the bus.
Motor compartment. Matching number motor 7686196 March 1963 build. This motor is the exact way it was represented from the factory when delivered back in 1963. This would be the model to follow if you wanted to create the bus as it would of been. Each part is German, Correct and in place 100% Each part!!!! Down to the fuel line, distributor, Fuel pump, clamps, etc.
-Slash cut bumpers.
